With the FMCSA no longer issuing new MC numbers, brokers are increasingly seeing DOT numbers as the single consistent way to identify carriers. Augie now treats DOT numbers as the primary identifier across all carrier-related workflows, while continuing to recognize MC numbers during the phaseout. This update makes it easier for brokers to work confidently with both new and existing carriers without changing their day-to-day process.

Carrier identity should be something you can rely on without having to think about it. This update makes that trust easier by keeping carrier records consistent as they move through Augie. The workflows teams already depend on continue to work, with fewer moments where information feels unclear or needs to be reconciled manually.

It also gives you better signal when something does not add up. When identifiers conflict, those inconsistencies surface earlier, making it easier to spot potential issues before they become problems. At the same time, legitimate new carriers are not slowed down by extra checks. They can be processed and activated immediately, allowing teams to move quickly while staying confident in who they are working with.

How It Works

• Augie now uses the DOT number as the primary identifier when matching and verifying carriers.
• MC numbers are still accepted. When present, Augie automatically links them to the correct DOT record so brokers can continue working with legacy identifiers during the transition.
• If a carrier provides only an MC number, Augie uses it to resolve the corresponding DOT number whenever possible.
• Augie flags mismatches between DOT and MC numbers, giving teams early visibility into potential data issues or fraud risks.

This update is live for all customers using Carrier Selection. No configuration or workflow changes are required.
